An exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller

As the leading name on the high street for mobile phones, broadband and laptops we employ in excess of 4,000 staff, and have over 450 stores accross the UK and Northern Ireland. We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller who will be responsible for the accounting of the Staff Costs department including the accounting of staff wages, bonus and comission schemes on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis.

Role: a member of the Senior Management team, attending monthly board meetings to present the financial status of the business; you will produce accurate accounts and financial statements, fully reconciled by the 11th working day of the month following the trading period end; you will be responsible for the production of budgets and forecasts and for producing reports comparing actual performance; manage credit control; ensure the accuracy of stock counts and valuation; manage all treasury functions including management of daily headroom, reconciliation of funding facilities and foreign currency transactions; liaise with the Auditors in the preparation of the statutory annual accounts and annual returns; maintain fixed asset register and support production of Capex justifications for submission to the board; support the Managing Director in commercial decision-making through provision of robust information like margin analysis, contribution analysis and raw material PPV data; all VAT, intrastat, EC sales reporting plus management of payroll and payroll returns; ensure financial controls are in place and where necessary are developed. Person: ACMA or ACA qualified (or equivalent); proven track record in a fast-paced customer focused manufacturing environment; able to draw conclusions and make sound recommendations; ability to integrate well within a team and get on with other people; strong commercial acumen; excellent analytical and IT skills.
