We've seen technology evolve through cable, radio, satellite and beyond, to a new era of international communications. Throughout which we've developed our business to suit the constantly evolving global communications marketplace.
Our ambition is to redefine what it's like to work with a global telecommunications company. Instead of selling to customers, we want to talk to them about building their business. We want to understand our customers' needs and deliver against them, brilliantly, every time.
Our focus is on fewer customers, where our experience and capability can make the most difference for their business. We'll help them manage their telecoms agenda and by doing this, we develop our own capabilities to better meet their needs.
Our customers have told us that they need to find new ways of working, new ways to engage with their consumers. They need to build better relationships and empower their own organisations to do better. However, they must also be innovative and reduce costs. We understand these challenges and are ready to help them achieve their goals.

A LITTLE SUMMARY OF OUR FLEXIBLE BENEFITS
Annual Leave – Your annual leave entitlement is 25 days. Through Flex you can buy up to ten additional days, or sell up to five days and receive a cash credit.
Dental Cover - The Dental Plan offers a cost effective way of making sure you, and your partner if applicable, can enjoy good dental health. The Plan offers you two levels of cover; the Gold Plan is designed to reimburse the cost of NHS treatment, and the Platinum Plan is structured to meet the cost of typical private dentistry. This is a group Plan, so the premiums for colleagues are more competitive than those available to individuals externally.
Healthcare – We will provide healthcare cover for you and your partner and/or dependants if you select it through Flex. Private medical insurance ensures support is available for urgent medical matters as they occur. There’s no cost to you for this private medical insurance (but it is treated as a taxable benefit). Through Flex you can also choose a higher level of outpatient cover for yourself and your family, at your own cost.
Health Screening - Confidential health and wellbeing assessments are available through Flex. This includes a range of medical tests you can use to review your current state of health, as well as, help identify and prevent future problems. All assessments are conducted by expert practitioners. You can purchase a health screen for yourself and/or partner, with the option of paying the cost monthly.
Pension – The Company uses Smart Pensions, a salary sacrifice arrangement, to make payments into the Lifetime Benefits Plan (LBP), the Cable&Wireless pension scheme. Instead of you making your own contributions to the LBP, you choose to reduce your basic salary by a set percentage up to 5%, subject to the salary cap (£112,800 for the 2007/08 tax year). In return, Cable&Wireless will pay the equivalent amount plus 1.5 times the percentage reduction you’ve chosen into your LBP account.
So, if you choose a 5% reduction, Cable&Wireless will pay the value of your salary reduction plus 7.5% of your full pensionable salary into your LBP account.
All other company benefits will be based upon your notional salary, which is equivalent to your pensionable salary before reduction for Smart Pensions or any other salary sacrifice arrangement.
Life Cover – Members of the LBP pension scheme automatically receive life cover of five times your pensionable salary. In addition, Flex provides you with the option to increase cover up to eight times your pensionable salary, or even reduce it to a minimum of two times your pensionable salary.
