St. Margaret's Hospice was founded in 1980 by a group of dedicated local people committed to improving the services for the terminally ill in Somerset. Today St. Margaret's is the largest hospice in the South West and is committed to providing specialist palliative care, advice and support to patients and their families living in Somerset and parts of neighbouring counties. As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the management and performance of the Finance team consisting of two Finance Assistants. You will therefore hold responsibility for the financial management and reporting systems of the Hospice, ensuring that legislative requirements and timescales are met and that Hospice regulations are complied with. The Finance Manager will assist the FD in all matters relating to the Finance records of St Margaret's Somerset Hospice. You will be expected to suggest and implement changes to their accounting and financial procedures. Duties will include: management of the data input of financial information into the computerised accounting package; distribution of invoices to budget holders; bank reconciliations; regular review of debtors and creditors; ensuring that VAT is accounted for, paid or reclaimed correctly, providing advice on VAT regulations as required; the design and development of spreadsheets for use by the Finance team, and other departments, to assist in the production of management reports; assisting with compliance of Hospice finance policies and...
