British Accounting Association
The aims and objectives of the BAA are the advancement of knowledge and understanding of accounting. The BAA, which was established in 1947, is a UK organisation which brings together those interested in teaching and research in accountancy and finance. Please note that as the BAA is an academic research-based organisation we are not able to endorse services of any commercial organisations.
The BAA currently has about 800 members, many of whom are employed in UK Higher Educational institutions. Other members include representatives from leading firms of accountants as well as a significant number of private individuals and people based outside the UK.
Aims and Objectives
- The advancement of education in accounting and finance.
- The encouragement of research in accounting and finance.
- The promotion by means of conferences, discussion groups or otherwise, of closer relations among teachers, accounting practitioners and others who are interested in the development of accounting and finance.
