Salary Survey 2008

What are you worth?

It’s a difficult question to answer but if you haven’t got a clue then you’re in danger of being undervalued.

The financial recruitment industry expects that it will be crying out for candidates in 2008 as the skills shortage is predicted to continue. Even with talk of recession, experts believe that finance and accounting professionals have no need to lose sleep over their jobs. In fact, the latest surveys suggest that increasing demand for Accountants is expected to push salaries higher than ever this year.

So what do you think your employers should be offering you? There’s a great deal more to it than just what’s in your payslip at the end of the month, don’t forget to take into account travel subsidies, free gym membership, healthcare, flexi-time. Even a casual dress code and relaxed working atmosphere are seen as benefits to be considered as part of a package. Do you have free tea and coffee at work, a parking space or access to the web? ...for surfing after hours of course!

It is a complicated calculation (but we know you love that sort of thing) so here are a few organisations that have investigated, reported and compiled just how valuable they think you are. Take a look and make sure you’re getting what you’re worth and don’t forget to keep your finger on the pulse with our financial recruitment news.
