For candidates and recruiters, the internet is the simplest, most convenient and fastest growing medium for recruitment. In 2007 the number of job seekers using exclusively online methods to search for jobs rose by 50% (source NORAS).
Here at GAAPweb, candidates have the ability to quickly and comprehensively search roles using criteria such as location, sector and salary, giving job seekers direct access to the roles that interest and suit them best. For recruiters, this means that candidates applying for jobs are more likely to fit the desired profile for the role in question.
Our ever-expanding online CV database is another great reason to recruit online. Our extensive database allows recruiters to filter documents for the candidates that they are really looking for. Having all of these CVs collated online is a useful and convenient tool for recruiters. GAAPweb also encourages candidates to continuously update their CVs, ensuring that the information on our database is always recent and relevant.
Advertising vacancies online is a great way to reach a UK-wide base of potential candidates, bringing together jobseekers and recruiters in a way which offers fantastic benefits to both parties. With the ability to reach and filter such a vast number of candidates, it is easy to see why online recruitment is becoming more and more popular amongst candidates and recruiters alike.
Over the last 10 years, GAAPweb has grown to not only be the Accounting and Finance industrys first point of call when job seeking (73% of our candidates are return users) but we also provide careers and CV writing advice, news, entertaining blogs and most recently a CPD diary, giving our audience more reasons to come back to our site, more often.
Originally set up in 1998 by Cliff Olsen & Mark Wainwright, GAAPweb was acquired by Trinity Mirror in 2006. Trinity Mirror is one of the largest publishing houses in the UK, with other titles including Daily Mirror, Totally Legal, Secs in the City and the Hotonline network. This relationship provides us with the backing of a FTSE 100 company, whilst we continue to retain the customer service ethos of our more humble beginnings.
How complicated and/or time consuming will it be to advertise?
All you need to do is copy and paste the job details into a simple Word template, then wait for the applications. We have a dedicated web editing team to ensure your advert is web optimised, grammatically correct and complies with employment law legislation. In addition, your account manager will monitor how your advert is performing and, if necessary, can advise on ways to improve the number of candidates viewing your advert.
Am I going to be bombarded with irrelevant CVs?
Whilst we cannot guarantee how many or who will apply to your advert, we know from experience, that candidates coming to the site are highly relevant and would expect a vacancy on the site to receive on average 10 good quality CVs.
What if there are sensitivity issues around advertising the role?
We understand that recruitment can at times be a sensitive subject and as such can ensure that details such as salary or even your company name/brand are kept confidential from jobseekers.
