Job description

A leading Energy company with operations in Central London is looking to recruit an Accountant within its Business Improvement and Technology division. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their career within a large energy company. Duties: providing Managers with leadership in the preparation of their planning and budgeting; providing accurate analysis of historical costs; modelling future costs; understanding assumptions and challenging; loading agreed output accurately into SAP; providing Managers with leadership in the preparation of their forecast; providing accurate data on spend to date and modelling of rest of year assumptions; ensuring thorough engagement by Managers through regular meetings; maintaining accurate and timely accounting within SAP, in line with accounting policies. This will include accurate accruals and prepayment processes. Other duties: preparation of accurate charging within the area of responsibility, ensuring accuracy; carrying out regular balance sheet and other accounting reconciliations accurately and promptly; maintaining suitable audit evidence; providing useful reporting and analysis that is clear and concise, including relevant analysis and identification of risks and opportunities. You will be a professionally qualified Accountant who is numerate with good analytical skills. You should be a confident, challenging self-starter. Advanced spreadsheet skills/SAP or equivalent financial system is useful.
