Job Summary
The Financial Accounting and Reporting team manages a range of financial accounting and reporting activities from balance sheet reconciliation and control through to period reporting in Hyperion across a significant number of business units/markets. SPX is US owned and therefore operates a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance environment.
The Financial Accountant role takes the lead position in the department opposite a single or range of markets and ensures that all the departments’ responsibilities are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure business unit/market reporting in Hyperion is delivered on time and to all control and reporting standards appropriate for the market.
- Ensure the reported accounts are fully understood and variance analysis is performed appropriately.
- Liaise and foster good relations with in Business Unit/Market Finance and Operational teams to ensure effective delivery of the ESSCs responsibilities.
- Prepare and review a range of complex account reconciliations including VAT and intercompany.
- Ensure the control environment is robust and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant with all process documentation up-to-date.
- Liaise and foster good relations with the Internal and External Audit teams.
- Work across SPX to ensure processes continuously improve and the ESSC delivers its exciting and ambitious vision.
Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent.
- Good understanding of Financial Accounting and Reporting processes in a large, complex organisation.
- Comfortable with a changing, fast-paced environment.
- Able to demonstrate real process improvement experience.
- Good understanding of SAP.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
