Job description
A leading international Insurance company is currently recruiting for an Accountant to manage the financial aspects of the various reinsurance arrangements across all products of the business. You will be responsible for: producing annual reinsurance budgets for consolidation into the 3 year strategic plan and produce quarterly forecasts, measuring performance against plan; monthly reconciliation and review of reinsurance control accounts and identify potential transaction errors; ensuring continuous compliance with statutory requirements, meeting external reporting deadlines including those set under Solvency II; ensuring processes are critically reviewed on a regular basis and improved for operational effectiveness; liaising with Actuarial and Underwriting to provide sufficient information and support to enable effective renewal of reinsurance contracts. Experience and skills required: ideally an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, etc); experience and understanding of Insurance is essential Advanced Excel experience essential; able to understand, evaluate and interpret complex financial data and explain financial concepts to all internal and external customers; strong analytical skills, able to work independently, using initiative to follow through investigations logically.
