Job description

Cost Accountant/Functional Accountant - Leyland

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a Finance background.
  • Able to analyse/reconcile data methodically.
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Very good communicator with excellent organisational skills.

Roles & Responsibilities – Weekly:

  • Issue weekly cost information.
  • Update and reconcile UU cash receipts to remittance advice & nominal ledger.
  • Reallocation of nominal ledger costs (eg review Reconomy invoice charges to vehicle registration to challenge mis-allocated costs).

Roles & Responsibilities – Monthly:

  • Preparation of all core work journals with detailed supporting schedules.
  • Ensure all journals supported by detailed backup schedules saved on the network.
  • Compilation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assistance in application for payment for core work to United Utilities split at job level.
  • Preparation of Cumulative Spend reports for inclusion in the Alliance Board Report.
  • Maintain a detailed staff list working on the contract to identify recharges for staff leavers.
  • Stock take attendance.

Roles & Responsibilities – Ad hoc:

  • Respond to queries from operations in a timely manner.
  • Support ad hoc projects/tasks as required by the client, Finance Manager or Management Accountants.

Reports:

  • Direct report to: Management Accountant.
  • Indirect report to: Assistant Management Accountant/Finance Manager.
