Job description
Robert Half International is currently supporting a leading Manchester Employer with the needs for an Operations Accountant, you will be responsible for: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Accounting for the UK operations. This includes financial accounting for period end close, budgeting & forecasting as well as monthly management reporting to operations management. You will also be responsible for product costing, intercompany & interregional pricing, as well as accounting for freight, warehousing, inventory and capital expenditure. Key duties: reporting production of comprehensive financial and non-financial; monthly and quarterly business reporting; budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis; capital reporting; product costing analysis and interpretation of manufacturing variable and fixed costs; inventory management; ensuring accurate costings and stock valuation and follow up on purchase price variances; attendance at stock takes at manufacturing plant & 3RD party warehouse; freight and warehousing; freight rate management; warehouse costs management; month end processes; monthly accruals and journals; monthly balance sheet reconciliation of assigned GL accounts; cost centre control; purchase order reconciliation. Successful candidate: university degree minimum 2:1 level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar qualified or post qualified CIMA; manufacturing accounting experience essential; working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley would be an advantage; advanced skills in MS Office (particularly Excel); experience with an ERP system is essential; experience with SAP and Hyperion or other management reporting systems is strongly desirable.
