Job description
My client, a FTSE Insurance business, is seeking an Accountant to join its busy and expanding team within their IA and Controls function. . This role is essential to provide support on reporting and financial control. Within this role the successful candidate will give support on technical accounting issues as well as assisting in review of annual financial statements. There will also be some elements of forecasting and budgeting to this role. Experience within the Insurance sector is essential. For this role it is essential that you are a qualified Accountant with a strong technical background which includes IFRS. The ideal candidate will have: a strong understanding of the insurance industry from either a management or financial accounting background with a desire to transfer this expertise into a specialist internal controls function. A sound understanding and knowledge of accounting and financial reporting issues in insurance, and how these are measured and managed; awareness of the current compliance issues within the Insurance industry including Solvency II; personality – ambitious, can-do attitude, thirst for learning and sharing knowledge, delivering excellence. The selected candidate can be based in either their Dorset or London offices.
