Job description

The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is the independent regulator and registrar of Scottish Charities. Our aim is to create an environment in which charities flourish and in which the public have confidence in charities. We are seeking applications for an Accounting Advisor based in Dundee. The Accounting Advisor must have an accounting qualification from one of the individual bodies of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB). You will be familiar with Scottish Charity Legislation, the Charities Accounts Regulations and the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP). You must be able to demonstrate relevant experience of working in an accounting or policy environment using Company Law and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP). You will have an up-to-date knowledge of current accounting requirements and practice as well as the accountancy policy environment. It is also essential that you have excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to explain complex financial matters in a user friendly way.

This is a permanent and pensionable appointment. New entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range.
