Job description
An opportunity has arisen in a listed E&P Oil and Gas company in London, for an Accounting Manager to join a newly created Corporate Accounting team. With a multibillion turnover and assets on multiple continents, my client is seeking a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) to join to compliment their continued growth. Due to some strong exploration work in recent years leading on to an enviable production portfolio, my client is creating a Corporate Accounting team to oversee all aspects of the Finance team be it exploration, production or group. This specific role has come about to manage this new team. The job purpose is to manage all financial and management accounting processes associated with head office corporate accounting activity. The role includes the management and development of a number of direct reports. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a finance function and will serve as a stepping stone onto very senior roles in a blossoming FTSE business. The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant with excellent financial accounting and analytical skills (including an in-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP). You will have had strong experience in the oil and gas, or a similar capital intensive industry, and be adept at managing a team. This is a role that is moving away gradually from 'hands-on' accounting and more into ensuring the reporting and stat accounts are accurately prepared and on time. This is a chance to train and develop some qualified Accountants and you will be exposed to senior management from day one. My client offers industry leading packages to reward excellent ability. As such, a base salary of £70,000 - £80,000 per annum will be offered dependent on experience and a 30% bonus, share options, pension, healthcare and flexi hours are available to the successful candidate.
