Job description
My client is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant. This role is primarily responsible for the Treasury Function (cash & banking) and also revenue (sales ledger). The Accounts Assistant will provide support within the department to the FD, Senior Finance Assistant and other departments as required. You will be responsible for reviewing invoices with the objective of revenue recognition compliance including credit checks for new customers and all necessary Sales Ledger functions. This role will entail bank reconciliation and cash reporting; ensuring the company’s cash position is properly reported. This includes daily treasury duties and participating in the preparation of the weekly cash forecast. The Accounts Assistant will also be responsible for employee expenses, ensuring they are recorded and ready for payment every week and accurate and timely completion of ad hoc tasks as advised by Senior Finance Assistant and FD. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales ledger particularly invoice preparation and will have experience in cash and banking; recording of payments received and matching payments to invoice. General ledger experience is essential and purchase ledger experience is desirable. General IT skills and familiarity with accounting software is preferable. Proficiency in Excel is also required.
