Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and committed Assistant Accountant to join our company. Mountain Warehouse currently trades from 94 stores, including a store in Vienna. We also have a thriving e-commerce website providing a vast catalogue of products to customers not yet near a store.

You will be providing support to the Management Accountant and FC.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Input of sales data to the ledger and analysis of results.
  • Complex bank reconciliations.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Posting Invoices and obtaining authorization from various sources.
  • Cheque payment run.
  • Direct debit allocations.
  • Lodging and chasing invoice queries up.

The ideal candidate will subsequently play an important part in developing processes which fall under their remit and take on more challenging work as he or she progresses. It is therefore expected that they will demonstrate the following attributes:

Essential
  • The candidate should be part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA or another relevant accounting qualification.
  • Highly computer literate particularly in Excel.
  • Previous accounting experience particularly within an AP role.
  • Ability to prepare reconciliations, especially bank reconciliations.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and be tolerant to pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
Desirable
  • Experience in a high volume business.
  • Experience of databases and the ability to analyse information efficiently.
