Job description
A Propriety Trading house based in the City urgently requires an Assistant Accountant to work directly with and support the CFO. This rapidly growing business has a number of global offices and as a result of its success they are looking to expand their team in London. The CFO is currently implementing their new trading system into Oracle and therefore requires an Assistant Accountant to carry out essential accounting tasks. Responsibilities will include sales and purchase ledger, payroll and expense work however the successful individual will be actively encouraged to take on more responsibility. You will also be heavily involved in projects and systems work, getting involved in all areas of the business which will include ad hoc tasks. This is an exceptional role for an individual that is looking for a business that will give them a huge amount of flexibility as well as exposure to a wide range of functions. The business actively encourages study for your accountancy qualification and will offer study support where needed. My client requires the individual to have previous accounting experience in Financial Services, preferably from a brokerage or prop trading house. The successful candidate with have a confident and positive attitude and will be required to use their initiative daily, resulting in a proactive approach to their work.
