Job description
DMJ Finance is currently recruiting for a well known Charity in the Central London which is looking to bring in an ambitious Assistant Accountant. The role would include: assisting in the production of month end accounts, including; posting of fixed asset adjustments; performing bank reconciliations; preparation of trial balance; balance sheet reconciliations to be carried out each month end on key balance sheet items; variance analysis to budget; reconciliation of gift aid on nominal ledger to outstanding claims; assisting the FD with the year end accounts and audit, including preparation of the financial statements and liaison with the Auditors; assisting the FD with the budget process; assisting the FD with ensuring the financial control are robust; to ensure income received on the database and income recorded on the Finance system are reconciled on a monthly basis; understand VAT treatments of charity income and advise accordingly; produce ad hoc analysis and advice; to ensure all purchase ledger entries are correct, VAT treatment is correct, invoices are paid on time, BACS payment and cheque payments are made accurately and on time; to create and account for the gift aid claim each month and check its accuracy; to prepare gift aid claims for community fundraising; ensure that all petty cash is controlled effectively and reconciled. Skills required: strong accounting skills; AAT qualified; strong interpersonal skills and examples of working strongly in a team; advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge; PC Microsoft Word and PowerPoint so that no further training is required to do the job. The salary for this role is £26,000- £28,000 per annum.
