Job description

A large Local Government authority is currently seeking an interim Assistant Finance Director to cover the vacant post whilst they look to recruit on a permanent basis. Your primary function within this role will be to assist the FD on a number of key tasks including asset management, strategic insight into identifying areas of cost saving including potential outsourcing opportunities and staff management of a team with low morale. Additionally you will act as the deputy 151 Officer so you must have previous experience/knowledge of this. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong team management and team building skills, be fully CCAB qualified, have previous experience as a Deputy Finance Director or a Financial Controller’s role within Local Government and be able to hold their own in scrutiny meetings, cabinet meetings and audit committee meetings.
