Job description

Our client, a well-established organisation in the local Derby area, is currently looking for a temporary Assistant Financial Accountant for 3 or 4 days a week, hours to suit. As Assistant Financial Accountant, your duties will include: raising payments for net salaries and third party payment; analysis and journal postings; monthly balance sheet reconciliation; working with the Accountant to review and post the monthly reports; reconciliation of bank, cash and payroll accounts; compilation of monthly salary variance analysis; preparation and submission of VAT data; monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all VAT accounts; reconciliation VAT claims; knowledge and ability to submit the monthly UK VAT return; to assist as necessary with any ongoing VAT compliance; to maintain a monthly summary of all accountancy fees incurred across key suppliers. This role is to start ASAP on a temporary basis. It offers free parking, and is easily accessible from Derby, Nottingham and Leicester. This is an extremely interesting and varied role within this well-established local employer.
