Job description

My client is a leading Accountancy firm based in Northampton. Are you a part-qualified Management Accountant and looking for a new challenge? If so this could be the next move for you! We are seeking an Assistant Financial Analyst to join the team. You will be part-qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA and have a practice or industry background. This role is office based but will involve travel to London once a week. You will report to the Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst, you will provide support to the Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst. Responsibilities: assist the Business Analyst in the provision of management accounting support to the Office Managing Partner/Business unit; managing Partner/Head of department and staff of the designated business unit(s) comprising: preparation of periodic financial and management information proactive interpretation of key performance indicators and including those relating to the management of costs; providing assistance to the Business Analyst in the coordination WIP valuation and bad debt provision exercises; providing assistance to the Business Analyst in the coordination of the preparation and submission of annual profit budgets and periodic forecasts; any other duties to meet with the needs of the business; the post holder will be expected to work hours as necessary to ensure the quality and timeliness of output is ensured; to identify PMS database irregularities within the designated business unit(s) - this will involve coordination and liaison with staff in the Centralised Finance Function (particularly liaising with Time and Fees Assistants); local HR and IT co-ordinators. Essential: part-qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA; good Excel skills – this will be tested at interview; familiarity with other MS applications (Word and PowerPoint); ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with partners and staff at all levels.
