Job description
Reporting to the Business Analyst (Maintenance & Service Charges), this is a key role in the organisation and responsible for the accounting for the properties the organisation owns and manages including: preparing the monthly management accounts; variance analysis; forecasting and; balance sheet reports. It is imperative that the new incumbent understands Service Charges and has an interest in the different types of housing schemes the Association offers to appreciate the complexity of this role. They ideal candidate will have worked closely with budget holders, advising and training them on the budget setting process. The candidate: you will ideally be a fully qualified Accountant with a confident manner and an ability to work closely and effectively with the business; you will understand the concept of service charges and ideally have worked for an organisation with a property or maintenance focus ideally with a large asset base; experience in producing management accounts, presenting reports to the business is desirable and working with your audit partners; excellent interpersonal skills are a necessity to be successful in your application. The company: they own and manage 30,000 homes across London and the east of England with several thousand new homes in development; the Association offers a wide range of housing options, including affordable rented, temporary, supported and shared ownership homes; Genesis also provides property management. Salary and benefits: £45,000 per annum plus benefits. Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
