Job description

A unique organisation with an interesting history & overseas connections is seeking a Business Finance Manager (BFM) to take the reins in overseeing all their Finances & Assets. Therefore the vacancy calls for a confident, flexible Accountant with a wide portfolio of skills, who is excited rather than intimidated by the prospect of submersing themselves in the organisation & making key business decisions. The Business Finance Manager & their Assistant will be solely responsible for keeping our client running, so if working in an independent influential, not pure Finance position appeals, this opportunity is well worth consideration. You will be accountable to the head of the organisation in all financial management matters & to Trustees in regard to capital works & investments. The focus of the position is Financial, overseeing (among other things): income tax; statements & accounts; annual budgets; insurance. Along with running the show financially, they will have various tasks on the business side of things including: investments - managing development of investments at the direction of Trustees; training - teaching basic bookkeeping skills to other staff; meetings - acting as Clerk to the Trustees, producing agenda & minutes of meetings; operations - managing maintenance of the client's property. Requirements: qualified/QBE Accountant; knowledge of current Charity/Not for Profit Legislation; experience of hands-on involvement in running a company/organisation.
