Lead a step change that will take us all forward.
If you are CCAB qualified or equivalent and have excellent people and financial skills, this is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in our future success.
One of the UK’s most innovative universities, we have a £170 million turnover and highly ambitious plans for the future. Central to the success of these plans will be your ability to lead the creation of a team of Business Partners within a new centralised Finance department that will maximise resources, ensure best practice and achieve greater efficiencies and standardisation. Pivotal to this transformation, you will drive improvements, raise the profile of your team and deliver wide-ranging operational and strategic advice.
Providing proactive support to Schools and services across the university, you will meet the needs of budget holders by advising on everything from financial modelling and forecasting to budget monitoring. With your excellent communication skills you will help non-financial people assess and understand the financial implications of potential new initiatives and income streams. Not only will you shape a diverse range of projects and interesting commercial challenges, you will take the financial pressure off our academics so they can focus on what they do best.
As each School has its own culture and ways of working, you will benefit from experience of working both at a head office and a Satellite function. A free thinker with a disciplined approach and a proactive problem solver, you should also be an inspirational leader who can shape strategies, inspire confidence and influence people at every level.
This unique role offers immense scope, plenty of variety and the opportunity to quickly see the results of your actions.
