Job description
Reed Finance is working with a reputable organisation based in Aberdeen which is looking to recruit a Chief Accountant. The post holder will be responsible for 8 members of staff and will report direct to the FD. You will be responsible for providing, maintaining and developing an efficient and effective financial and management accounting service for the organisation, develop business and accounting systems, management and supervision of designated staff. Key tasks will be to oversee the operation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function, including administration and operation of secure and accurate payment systems, operation of appropriate VAT management systems, including timely completion of VAT Returns, development and operation of cash forecasting. You will be responsible for budget preparation in conjunction with budget holders, monitoring and reporting actual performance against budget and preparing and reporting expenditure forecasts. In addition you will prepare the monthly consolidated management accounts and annual statutory accounts. The role will require liaising with Internal and External Auditors and other professional Advisors, central authorities and clients of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) and will have management and team development skills, demonstrate leadership and motivation with excellent written and oral communication skills. You will be computer literate with a working knowledge of computerised accounting packages with good organisational, problem solving and analytical skills.
