A strategic position reporting to the new and dynamic Vice-Chancellor, the Chief Financial Officer will provide strong financial leadership to support the sustainable growth and development of the University.
The role:
- Broad financial leadership and direction to create a robust, flexible and enabling business partnership culture. As a key member of the Executive team, working with senior colleagues to drive, deliver and support Aston’s strategy for growth in a rapidly changing and competitive environment.
- Commercial leadership of the University’s revenue generating businesses including Conference Aston and the Private Day Hospital.
- Develop productive and sustainable working relationships with key external partners and stakeholders.
The candidate:
- Qualified Accountant, graduate calibre with sharp intellect and outstanding track record of senior commercial financial leadership. Energetic, innovative and entrepreneurial, able to identify and manage the risk of new commercial opportunities for the benefit of the University.
- First class negotiator, strong communication and analytical skills. Sound judgment and an engaging and collaborative style.
- Identifies and has empathy with the values and objectives of the University and Higher Education.
