Job description

A highly successful and evolving Group with a refreshingly progressive approach.

With a turnover in excess of £250 million, our client is one of the largest and most influential housing and property development groups in the UK. They have an enviable reputation as a provider of affordable homes and as a major force in urban regeneration. Their success, growth and track record can in part be attributed to their vision, ability to embrace, challenge and take full advantage of the opportunities in a sector experiencing an accelerating rate of change.

This key appointment offers an exceptional opportunity for a high calibre individual to play a leading role in driving the business forward at this exciting and challenging time.

Reporting to the Divisional Managing Director, with a dotted line to the Groups Director of Business Planning this position will take the professional lead in all financial planning and business reporting matters in the South East, contributing to strategic leadership and adding to the effectiveness of the Divisional Management team.

The Accounting function is in the process of being centralised at the head office in the North of England, so you will be fully focused on adding value whilst retaining ownership for your division’s numbers.

A proven Finance Business Partner, you will be working closely with Operational Managers to develop forecasts and business plans for the Division, ensuring all financial controls are adhered to and local development strategies are supported.

There will be a strong emphasis on collaborative working, both in the development of ideas to maximise rental income, as well as identifying improvements to the quality of, and delivery of customer services.

You will also be involved in a wide range of commercial projects, ranging from cost comparisons and benchmarking, through to the financial modelling of viability appraisals.

As a qualified Accountant you will already have worked in business supporting roles and are now looking for that opportunity to take your commercial input to the next level. You will be tenacious and able to demonstrate drive, ambition and the ability to work to the highest standards in delivering business objectives. Your communication skills and influence with high profile individuals will ensure that you are well able to manage and develop relationships across a diverse Group.

This is a career enhancing opportunity. Our client is committed to recruiting, developing and retaining high calibre individuals and can offer a challenging and rewarding working environment with excellent career development opportunities.
