As a result of a department relocation, Pan Macmillan is currently looking to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager to act as a key member of the Finance team taking responsibility for delivering high quality management information and analysis coupled with excellent business support.
Reporting to the FD and managing a team of 2 Analysts, you will assume responsibility for the forecasting process, the financial evaluation of new acquisitions and the production of the monthly management pack. You will also oversee the provision of sales and marketing analysis and market data as well as providing post publication profitability analysis to the business.
Building strong relationships across all levels of the business, particularly Pan Macmillan senior management, you will act as a key point of contact for business analysis and queries.
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded individual with excellent analytical and data interpretation skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. You will also need to demonstrate:
- Established and proven track record of post qualified experience gained within ‘blue chip’ business.
- Should ideally have Media industry experience (consumer goods background); book publishing, video, games or music, but would also consider retail/FMCG.
- Must have Operational experience gained by working with and supporting a business unit.
- Previous experience of both working with and developing forecast and investment appraisal models essential.
- Familiarity with contracts, advances and royalties advantageous.
- Experience of producing high quality management reports and writing business commentaries.
- Some previous people management experience is desirable.
- Hyperion Planning/Oracle/Microsoft Access experience is desirable but not essential.
