Job description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Commercial Head of Finance at this hospitality business. The company turnover is £80 million with quite a few sites both international and UK. The role involves the following responsibilities: preparation of business plans for new development opportunities and for the refurbishment of existing restaurants, includes budget-setting for pre-opening costs and working with Accountants to agree the capital allowances due; modelling and evaluating different business scenarios; optimising payroll resources by monitoring and managing restaurant productivity; forecasting and costing different business decisions; control and review the capital budget for the restaurants for all replacement or new assets; take ultimate responsibility for the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all reporting, this includes weekly and daily sales, flashes, monthly management accounts, annual and monthly budgets and forecasts, statutory accounts and cash flows; lead the focus on balance sheet integrity and the discipline of monthly reconciliation controls; maintain and develop a monthly reporting pack that reviews actual data as well as KPIs. The following reports for example: flow-through, cash as a % of sales, bench-marking analysis between restaurants, comparative operating stock/food/wine/tobacco monthly stock-holdings. Use this to challenge restaurant performance. The ideal candidate will be in a senior position within the hospitality world and would be qualified as well, ACA/CIMA/ACA.
