Job description

Our client, a circa £16 million SME Engineering business, is currently seeking a proactive and hands-on Company Accountant to be based at its largest UK site in Corby, Northamptonshire. Reporting to the Managing Director the key purpose of this role will be to ensure the smooth running of the Finance function (which consists of 6 staff across 2 UK sites) as well as helping to facilitate efficient and effective accrual management, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting within this organisation. You will also be responsible for various daily, weekly and monthly duties including fixed asset related activities, VAT, payroll and the preparation of monthly & quarterly accounts. In addition to the above you will also be tasked with the search and selection of a new ERP and job costing system. The ideal candidate will be qualified or qualified by experience and will have a ‘sleeves rolled up mentality’ as well as experience of managing a small team. Essential to this role are strong systems implementation and data extrapolation skills coupled with ability to challenge and facilitate operational change and business growth. This role will suit a candidate who is a self-starter with a proactive and inquisitive mindset; coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
