Job description
The company: Selection Group is proud to be representing a rapidly expanding Halifax based company which specialise in installation and project management for key contractors working in the interior design market. Currently turning over around £4m, with the view to a 50% increase over the next 2 years, they are now looking to bring their finance function in-house and require a strong Company Accountant to facilitate this move. In 12-18 months time, the successful applicant will head up the subsequent Transactional team. The role: as Company Accountant, you will actually have all company secretary responsibilities up to board level. You will manage the company cash flow, budgets and forecasting and following detailed assessment, report on the financial performance of new/existing projects. All financial reports and accounts preparation will be required and month end packs put together for presentation to the board. Approval of supplier payments, payroll, and credit control will be key responsibilities of yours and you will ensure company VAT and PAYE returns are paid as appropriate. The management of all company commercial will be required and you will regularly liaise with external stakeholders. This is very much an all-round, hands-on role controlling the Accounts function for the business, so experience of a similar type of environment would be extremely advantageous. You: the successful candidate will have a demonstrable in-depth understanding of all aspects of the function, with substantial practical experience within a highly commercial environment. You will be ACCA qualified (or equivalent) and have extensive experience of VAT, tax and PAYE. Excellent written & oral communication skills are also essential as the incumbent will be required to frequently interact with internal and external stakeholders. An advanced Excel user with extensive Sage experience is required and you must have managed company accounts previously.
