Job description
My client, an FTSE 250 Energy company is actively seeking a Company Accountant to sit within the commodity trading area of its business. It demonstrated steady growth in 2009 and is strategically placed to grow significantly this year. The key responsibilities of the role will be to provide financial analysis and financial reporting for the trading and marketing businesses and ensure maintenance of controls within agreed corporate guidelines and governance risk policies, including financial reporting to IFRS standards. Other responsibilities will include: reporting and posting of mark to market positions into general ledger; reconciling the currency impact of revaluation of gains and losses; preparation of valuation of open derivative contracts; working alongside colleagues to understand the differences between financial and risk valuations. As the above tasks suggest, this is an extremely interesting and challenging role. The ideal candidate will have shown steady progress within their career and must have the drive to continue with this. You will be part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) and ideally have a good academic record. On offer is an excellent package of between £28k and £35k depending on experience, which is exclusive of a full pension, a quarterly bonus and a generous travel allowance.
Please note, it is unlawful to employ a person in a UK-based job who does not have permission to live and work in the UK. You should make yourself aware of how immigration laws apply to your situation before applying for any jobs. (Refer: Home Office Website).
This position is being advertised by an employment business in the case of temporary positions and an employment agency in the case of permanent positions.
