Job description
Our client is a leading firm of Chartered Accountants based in Harrogate. Due to continued growth of the tax department, they are now seeking a Corporate Tax Senior/Assistant Manager/Manager to provide support to the corporate tax compliance process and ad hoc support on Tax Advisory projects. The successful candidate will assist the existing Corporate Tax Senior Manager and senior with the corporate tax compliance process, including the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for accounts purposes, and the management of two Semi Seniors. As such, they are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter with the confidence and experience to play a key role in the management and delivery of work. Crucially, they will be keen to take on some responsibility for effectively delegating and reviewing work and mentoring more junior staff, although the ability to become fully engaged in the timely delivery of work will be essential. In addition, the ideal candidate will be expected to have some involvement in the delivery of advisory work, developing their experience in areas such as year end planning for OMBs, R&D claims, capital allowances planning, reorganisations, acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, international issues and cross border transactions amongst others. The ideal candidate will be ACA or CTA qualified with strong corporate tax compliance experience with some experience of advisory work (but crucially possessing the intellect, enthusiasm and appetite to develop exposure to such work). Experience of the interaction of corporate and personal taxes on OMB clients would be welcomed. A working knowledge of other areas of tax (eg income tax, CGT, NIC, VAT, etc) would also be desirable. This is a key appointment in their strategy for growth and a significant opportunity for ongoing career development for the right candidate.
