Job description
An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Analyst to join our client, a leading supplier of electrical precision equipment based in Leeds. Key responsibilities of the Cost Analyst job will include: to collect, create and synthesize actual, forecast and budget data of manufacturing costs, output, efficiency levels, and other performance statistics; prepare and maintain product cost data; report on quantities, valuation, sales and usage of inventory; report on financial performance and manufacturing statistics; provide analysis of variances with written comments; ensure application of division obsolescence policy, and identify problem areas; assist management in the assessment of: plant capacity and usage; cost reduction projects; plant replacement and acquisition; assist management with ad hoc projects as required; support the Divisional Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual worldwide reports for the division; support the Operations Director in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual worldwide reports for the division. The ideal Cost Analyst will possess the following attributes/skills: essential: ability to interact with a variety of personnel; able to work under time pressure and comply with deadlines; familiar with MS Excel, financial systems and report writing applications; clear and direct oral and written communication skills accuracy and attention to detail; previous experience in industrial environments, including manufacture and distribution.
