Job description
An opportunity has arisen for a Cost Accountant to support the Finance department with pricing and costing activity associated with new bids and proposals, achievement of cost targets during the NPI process, make versus buy decisions and price reviews with customers. Responsibilities: undertake regular project work as required, and produce 'scenario plans’ in response to changing business circumstances; lead pricing parameters from a financial perspective and provide guidance to the Programmes team as to the impact of alternative strategies; the Pricing & Cost Analyst will also support operations and supply chain colleagues in the evaluation of make versus buy decisions and support design to Cost Initiatives and Project teams; ensure cost/benefit analysis is undertaken for all plans; undertake business reviews to identify areas for improvement and potential cost/benefits; provide regular project updates to senior management - including performance reviews against targets; focus on costs, process improvements and efficiency to contribute to increased business profitability. Skills/experience: ideally you will have experience of costing/inventory within a manufacturing or engineering environment; qualified or equivalent; experience of operating an ERP system; ideally experience or working on Government contracts ie cost plus pricing.
