Country Financial Controller

This very well known group is looking for a Country Financial Controller to join their successful expanding operations in Tartous, Syria.

As a member of the Senior Leadership team you will provide financial and strategic guidance to the business and have overall responsibility for the Finance and Accounting team. A key focus will be enhancing the financial and management reporting systems in order to support improved business decision-making.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Working with the regional senior team to develop and implement long-term financial and business strategies.
• Providing leadership on all financial management issues within the business.
• Ensuring compliance with Financial/Accounting principles, procedures and practices in the organisation, in line with legal and group requirements.
• Managing the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial and management reports.
• Ensuring that the profits of the organisation are protected through the establishment, maintenance and continuous monitoring of effective financial controls, reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
• Developing partnership relationships with Auditors, Bankers and Insurers.
• Providing leadership and direction to the regional Finance team and developing the financial skill base of the business.
• Ensuring compliance with group and statutory financial procedures through ongoing audit management.
• Managing and developing relationships to encourage people to work collectively within the business, discussing and sharing financial issues to facilitate a process of continuous improvement.

We are looking for a seasoned Country Financial Controller, with the ability to join this market leading business and make an instant impact. As a CA/CPA/CIMA qualified Accountant you will have gained extensive experience within multinational businesses ideally within international roles and have well rounded finance and accounting skills coupled with strong commercial acumen.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Syria in order to be considered for this position.
