Job description
DMJ Finance is recruiting a heavily experienced Credit Controller to join a Top 100 UK Law firm based in Central London. This successful candidate will be responsible to the Head of Finance and the Revenue Controller, the job comprises the review and control of the firm’s debtor balances, in line with the firm’s credit control procedures. The post holder should be able to communicate effectively with Partners and other fee earners in order to minimise debtor balances at any given time. The role also requires an ability to communicate effectively with clients in such a way as to best achieve payment of invoices. Skills required include effective telephone and written communication. The candidate should be well organised, with good filing skills, able to produce details on an individual case at short notice. Production of a monthly report on all debtors over two months old with commentary on the progress made in respect of collection. To meet with the Head of Finance and Managing Partner on a monthly basis to discuss collection of debtors. Job skills, knowledge and experience: ability to communicate with fee earners and clients at all levels; computer literate, proficient in Excel and Word; confident and professional manner; good organisation and analytical skills; credit control experience, preferably in a Law firm. Personal skills required: well-organised, uses initiative, prioritises appropriately, applies self, shows attention to detail, manages own workload and meets deadlines; delivers helpful internal and external client services with a ‘can-do’ approach, shows commercial awareness and represents the department/Firm appropriately; accepts and follows instructions, listens, makes notes, questions appropriately, co-operates; shows commitment, passion & enthusiasm; is a respectful, reliable and supportive team player.
