Job description
Our client is the UK's largest food producer. More than 99% of all UK households bought one of their iconic brands last year alone. In fact, in an average fortnight 46.8 million people eat one of their branded products. They are fast-paced, acquisitive and decisive, with an entrepreneurial heartbeat and a track record of growth. R&A is responsible for all the financial reporting and analysis as well as consolidating the annual business plans, budgets and forecasts so that they can be reported against. As well as producing the numbers, we need to understand what’s behind them so we can explain them to others. Key technical skills: commercial reporting - analysis of reports and investigation to resolve issues; financial reporting - period end reporting for P&L and balance sheet; submission of the budgets to group; liaison with Internal and External Auditors; cost centre management; responsible for allocating centrally negotiated and paid costs; providing some payroll/headcount reports for certain areas; involvement in the reporting areas of SAP implementations. Core areas of knowledge & experience: experienced in working in an environment with continuous/significant change; experience of financial reporting/financial planning & analysis in a large, multi-transaction business; commercial awareness/experience within a commercial financial role; experienced in managing a large team of part-qualified/qualified Accountants and building high Performance teams; experienced in process improvement; experience of control environment/internal or external audit procedures; excellent verbal and written communication skills which are appropriate to all levels within an organisation; high degree of influencing skills. Preferable experience required: worked in a FMCG or retail environment; knowledge of various reporting and general ledger tools including SAP; qualified Accountant.
