Job description

The SF Group has been retained to recruit a talented Director of European Risk Management for a multinational organisation in Birmingham. This is a new role reporting to The Board and working within an organisation that has high levels of compliance requirements despite being privately owned and outside of the financial sector. Areas of compliance are largely as follows - regulatory change, financial crime, information security, data gathering and maximising information sources, Bribery Act 2011, supply chain due diligence, money laundering, HMRC VAT compliance issues, and internet trading. You will have significant experience of risk management. This will stretch far beyond financially orientated issues and cover the whole of operations and supply chain. Ideally, you will have worked at a senior level within a business not covered by regulation however we will definitely consider those who have worked within the Financial Services or utilities sectors or other highly regulated industry. You will not allow procedural issues to restrict the business' growth and will communicate issues upwards in a positive way, delivering solutions. Significant overseas travel will apply. Our client is a large, blue chip business with significantly sized operations throughout the globe. This newly created role gives the successful candidate a genuine opportunity to make their mark on this organisation in generating and promoting best practice.
