Job description

This role will report to the European Controller and may require occasional travel throughout Europe. The role is responsible for all financial accounting aspects for the UK, Belgium, Italy, Spain & Portugal legal entities. In addition it will create the key interface for the European FDs in respect of our strategic desire to drive consistent accounting treatment and uniformity of process across Europe. This will involve the decision of where processing is best placed be it the locale, UK or offshore. This will be achieved through both systems consolidation and the build of the UK org structure around that process, but also by non-systems driven change through communication and interaction with the locales. The role will be responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing in the UK team both in terms of skills sets and FTEs and that it is able to absorb the centralisation of European process. Optimising the onshore/offshore split will be important from both a workload and risk management perspective. You should be a qualified Accountant with proven success in a previous senior accounting role in a fast-moving and complex finance and accounting function. The ability to think strategically and effect business process improvement and change within the Finance function to thoroughly support the business will be key. We are looking for an intelligent, committed and proactive individual who will be a team player and enjoy the challenges of a fast moving, hard working and fun environment.
