Job description

Portsmouth Hospitals Trust is the large Acute Trust with the largest A&E department on the South Coast, employing 7000/8000 staff with approximately 2000 beds. It has 5 main divisions including: Medicine for Older People, Women & Children, Medicine, Surgery and Clinical Support. The Trust currently has 2 posts available on 3-6 month contracts for Division General Managers. One due to a career break for 12 months the other due to a secondment internally. These roles could become longer term but there is no guarantee of this at this point. The posts will be responsible for the managing the day to day responsibilities of a division: Women & Children (800 employees) and Medicine (2000 employees). The role will be to provide strategic, service and operational management to the Division. This includes the achievement of all operational performance targets including access, activity, finance, targets, and staff performance and governance standards, and the development of appropriate strategies for all services. The role will work in accordance with Government targets and frameworks that have been set and Government and Trust KRIS. These roles are ultimately responsible for patient safety and over viewing the financial management. You will report to the Head of Operations and will have a HR Manager, Finance Manager and Operations Manager along with other senior managers assigned to your division. To start ASAP.
