Job description
Our client is a Central London based fast growth Publishing business. The company now publishes more than 200 journals, which together have published nearly 100,000 peer reviewed articles. The business is owned by a major international publishing house and is seeking to appoint a Specialist Finance/Business Controller. The Controller will work very closely with the Managing Director and the rest of the Executive team on analysing financial processes and systems in order to implement improvements and efficiencies, which will increase performances and profits. Job purpose: to provide Financial Analysis and Business Partner support for the company. Duties (but not limited to): commercial support; prepare budgets and regular forecasts; prepare analysis of monthly results and trends; provide sophisticated business intelligence analysis; act as linking pin between business representatives and local as well as Corporate Finance/Controlling teams; prepare commentary and business reporting for month end and year end group reporting towards a Corporate Controlling team plus support the executive management and the parent company's Controlling team with financial analysis. In addition you will: identify improvements in the company’s controlling and reporting output, to develop plans to implement these improvements and coordinate development and implementation where applicable; act as linking pin between business representatives and local as well as Corporate Finance/Controlling teams; communicate monthly results, KPIs, forecasts, budgets as well as interpretations of all of these into the Local Executives plus the parent company’s Corporate Controlling team in a timely, accurate & effective manner. Requirements: Finalist ACCA or qualified ACA/ACCA, and with relevant experience in a similar Finance team or business controlling role; strong track record of developing analysis and presenting them back to Business Managers; strong interpersonal and persuasion/ influencing skills.
