Job description
Our client’s product is one of the world’s leading social media analytics tools. In line with aggressive growth plans the company is currently searching for a high calibre Finance Director to play a crucial part in the company’s growth. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual. The FD will have a commercial impact on the value of the company by generating rigorous control and efficiency programs in parallel with insightful financial planning.
Responsibilities:
- Playing the lead role in financial planning, modelling and reporting activities, preparing budgets, reporting on variations of budgets and employing systems to ensure that Managers keep to agreed budgets.
- Creating the monthly board pack containing information relating to leads, sales, growth, shrinkage, product types, sales persons, etc.
- Being ultimately responsible for the global consolidation.
- Being fully responsible for Financial Accounting.
- Ensuring new international offices are set up correctly from financial, tax efficient and legal perspectives.
- Acting as the point of contact for the Sales team to discuss and approve pricing models different to current models.
- Being part of Negotiation teams.
- Managing the Finance team and taking a proactive broad leadership and management role.
- Being responsible for tax efficiencies across the whole of the company.
- Bringing increased rigor to the compliance and control aspects of the business by introducing new accounting software.
- Reviewing, improving, the commission system.
- Project managing the automation of billing system.
- Designing, project managing, and installing new Management Information Systems.
Candidate Profile:
- Commercially oriented finance professional.
- ‘Rock solid’ financial accounting and reporting capabilities; the ability to set up systems rigorous enough to manage multi location entities providing timely information and visibility on company performance.
- Have excellent financial modelling, business planning and reporting skills such that he/she can play the lead part in reporting the present and future financial position of the company to the Management team and board.
- Ideally have exposure to the technology and digital media environments; not essential.
- Ideally have a larger company background followed by small and medium sized company experience, thereby being in a position to bring best practice to the company. Exposure to privately owned, venture or private equity backed company environments would be of added value.
- Have good leadership and people management skills.
- Have exposure to third parties such as Lawyers, banks and Auditors.
- Ideally have exposure to setting up and managing entities on an international basis.
- Either is an experienced finance professional seeking his/her first FD role or an FD already
- Qualified - Practice or industry.
- Entrepreneurially oriented.
- Credibility and strength in character. Able to challenge the Senior Management team – independence of mind.
- Personable and confident but not arrogant. Be low on ego and high on confidence.
- Strong work ethic, driven and enthusiastic.
- Hands on in approach.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to commute to Brighton with occasional travel to remote locations.
