It’s a brand which is recognised globally and is widely acknowledged as the best in its class, worn by people with a discerning preference for fine knitwear including a host of Hollywood stars, musicians and artists. John Smedley has a network of prestigious stockists throughout the world such as Selfridges, Harrods and John Lewis and has recently invested in a new flagship store in Brook Street, London.

This is a great time to join the company at an exciting phase in its development. The business has plans to grow, building new revenue streams and maximising existing ones across the UK and International markets. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the role will be responsible for providing financial and business support, analysing and challenging existing operations and business development activities. The jobholder will contribute to development of the company’s strategy and planning as well as manage the relationships with the business finance community. The role will also be responsible for leading a number of business projects which will involve working with different departments and external agencies.

To be successful you will be a professionally qualified Accountant, ACA, ACCA, ACMA, with a strong track record in manufacturing and knowledge of ‘lean’ manufacturing techniques. With previous experience of managing relationships with Banks and Investors, you will have good knowledge of working and developing International markets. As a person you will possess confident interpersonal skills and a proven track record of influencing people at all levels.
