Summary of Job Role:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance and Resources to join our Executive team and be responsible for our finance and back office services.
Key Responsibilities Include:
To be responsible for the Finance Department and the Back Office Team. Provide the Chief Executive and Trustees with timely and accurate financial information. Ensure the assets of the organisation are appropriately invested.
- Manage all aspects of the Finances Department.
- Provide financial advice to the Chief Executive and SMT.
- Prepare and monitor the annual budget.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information as required by the Chief Executive and the Trustees.
- Liaise with Auditors, Charities Commission, Companies House and other external bodies as and when required.
- Ensure full compliance with Company Law and Charity Regulations as well as HMRC.
- Ensure Financial Services outsourced, such as payroll are performing in accordance with agreements.
- Preparation and submission of annual audited accounts, annual tax returns.
- Management of staff as delegated, members of the SMT who have back office re responsibilities, specifically IT, HR and Estates, ensuring that they have clear objectives and personal development plans and they are appraised regularly.
- Maintain and update financial procedures and ensure they are being complied with.
- To develop a relationship with the organisations bank providers.
- Provide financial information to Grant Providers as and when required.
- Complete and submit returns to Supporting People and other contractors of services.
- To undertake any additional duties as required.
- Deliver the contract management function and provide regular routine information to support the organisations performance management process.
Candidate Specification:
Essential
- Accounting Qualification: ACCA / CIMA / ACA or recognised equivalent.
- Proven understanding and experience of performing financial tasks: Debtors & Creditors Ledgers Cash book and bank reconciliations Payroll and control accounts. Fixed Assets and Treasury function. Management Accounts and budget variances. Financial report writing.
- Computer skills – Word, Outlook, Excel, Access.
- An understanding of Sage Accounting Systems.
- Able to work across multiple sites and travel on company business.
