Job description

Large Central Government organisation of over £300m t/o is seeking a Finance Director. The organisation operates in a commercial way with rigid reporting frameworks, clear lines of authority and strategic senior level working. This represents an exciting opportunity to enter a Central Government organisation from private or public sector. You will be responsible for: coordinating and providing a professional financial support service to senior management including advice on budgeting, costing, forecasting and financial management. Key areas: broad organisational and political scanning; financial and business planning - revenue, capital, efficiency; costing methodologies; financial management and corporate governance; internal control; business cases; general revenue and capital budget monitoring; audit and inspection management; statutory accounts preparation; major projects support; grant provision; contract management and cost recovery. You will be: CCAB Accountant or equivalent; experienced in operating at senior management level; able to demonstrate strong technical skills developed within a large organisation; experienced in handling difficult situations and problem solving; experienced in cross departmental/organisation working; experienced in developing strong working relationships.
