Job description
Our Central Government client based in London is looking for a Finance Director, on a fixed-term contract basis, to ensure the Finance department are providing high quality financial and Government reporting and analysis. You will be the principal finance expert. You will be responsible for: - creating and delivering regular reports on the Finances; business improvement (providing financial consultancy and acting as financial business partner); defining financial strategy; leading and managing the team (direct and indirect reports-35); managing budget. To be considered for the role you must: be a qualified Accountant; have an up-to-date knowledge and experience of Government accounting; have practical knowledge of best practice in financial development; have vast experience of working for the Public sector; have excellent communication and project management skills; have track record of success in driving departmental change; have experience of leading and directing the operation of a large pension scheme.
