Job description
The London Academy of Excellence will be trebly unique in being: the only sixth form free school in the UK; a collaboration between eight of the top UK independent senior schools in the country including Eton, Highgate, London City and Brighton College; and; in delivering first class independent education to children from deprived backgrounds in London. You’ll guide the governing body on financial and administrative systems, audit and charity accounting matters; working in close collaboration with the Director of Education & Learning, Principal and Senior Leadership team in implementing all policies, decision-making processes and strategic planning involved in the management of the Academy; lead on all aspects of finance, human resources and procurement, company secretarial matters and provide strategic leadership to the following teams: finance; ICT; payroll; HR management; procurement and contract management; health & safety; premises and facilities management. You’ll be graduate/MBA calibre finance professionals and will ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, although outstanding candidates with considerable experience gained within an education establishment/education project management organisation will be considered; have extensive experience of both understanding and interpreting detail and leading teams within either public sector or private sector organisations; ideally with specific experience of Charities SORP & ideally will have had experience of administering one or more of HR, IT, Finance and facilities and liaising with specialists in such areas. Further: you’ll have the wherewithal to drive the academy forward; including taking advantage of any commercial opportunities the Academy has including liaising with potential sponsors.
