Job description
My client is a market leading, £75 million turnover, Specialist Manufacturer with a demanding, blue chip client portfolio. Operating across multiple sites in the UK, they are part of a European-wide group with strong financials and growth plans. An opportunity has arisen for a proven & self-motivated Finance Director to join the UK business in a Board level role, due to retirement. Reporting to the UK Managing Director, you will also have a key relationship with the Group FD, based in Europe and be focused on providing the commercial and strategic lead for the UK business. You will also act as Company Secretary and manage all key banking and advisory relationships. You will inherit a strong finance and commercial function with effective processes and controls that is seen as a ‘best practice’ business within the Group. Your responsibility will be to continue the good work instigated by your predecessor and to seek continual improvement within the business, and to the bottom line. You will manage a team of 10 staff across 2 sites and also be responsible for the continued improvement in the team’s performance and development. You will be a qualified Accountant with a proven record of delivering commercial success. You will be working at FD level within a sizeable business and have a strong background within manufacturing the business maintains its competitive edge by the application of Lean manufacturing principles, with which you will be conversant. My client would also consider candidates for whom a free-standing FD role would be the next logical progression. Some overseas exposure would be a benefit although not essential.
