Job description

Our client, a well established Manufacturing business, part of a European group, is seeking to recruit a commercially aware qualified Accountant to join its management team as Finance Director. Reporting to the Board, you will prepare and present monthly management accounts and KPIs, cash flow planning and forecasting, budgets as well as annual statutory accounts. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the Finance and Administration function, comprising a dedicated team, including credit control, payroll and VAT. You will also be the key contact liaising with Banks, Auditors and HMRC. Responsibilities: to direct the production of financial reporting in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements; to provide financial advice to senior management, the Group Managing Director, the Board and the shareholders in order that the company remains financially viable and meets agreed strategic goals and shareholder expectations; and to direct the day-to-day activities of the Finance department for accurate and timely payments and receipts. Skills and experience: commercial sector experience in senior finance roles including Finance Director with broad responsibilities including legal and insurance matters; previous experience within a manufacturing organisation would be advantageous especially in relation to costing and estimating systems. Person specification: qualified ACA, ACCA or ACMA; up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting standards and company law.
